  에픽게임즈 스토어의 이번 주 무료 게임으로 무려(?) 둠64(DOOM64)가 배포됩니다. 미드웨이 게임즈에서 개발해 1997년에 처음으로 등장한 둠64는 둠 시리즈의 네 번째 작품입니다. 당시에는 닌텐도64에서만 즐길 수 있는 게임이었는데, 기존 둠1,2의 팬들 혹은 당시 PC로 출시된 여러 유사장르의 게임을 플레이해 본 게이머들에게는 썩 좋지 않은 평가를 받았습니다. 반면에 둠64로 둠을 처음 접하면서 슈팅게임의 세계로 입문한 게이머들은 오히려 "이게 둠이지"하는 모습을 보이기도 합니다. 상당히 오랜 시간이 지났고 새로운 둠 시리즈가 많이 출시된 지금도 말입니다.

  A whopping (?) DOOM64 is distributed as a free game this week on the Epic Games Store. Developed by Midway Games and first appearing in 1997, Doom 64 is the fourth game in the Doom series. At the time, it was a game that could only be enjoyed on the Nintendo 64, but it received poor reviews from fans of the existing Doom 1 and 2 or gamers who had played several similar genres of games released on PC at the time. On the other hand, gamers who entered the world of shooting games when they first encountered Doom with Doom 64 like it, saying, “This is Doom”. Quite a long time has passed and many new Doom series have been released, but they still do.

  エピックゲームズストアーの今週の無料ゲームで、なんと（？）ドゥーム64（DOOM64）が配布されます。 ミッドウェイゲームズによって開発され、1997年に初めて登場したドゥーム64はドゥームシリーズの4番目の作品です。 当時はニンテンドー64でしか楽しめないゲームでしたが、既存のドゥーム1,2のファンや当時、PCで発売された様々な類似ジャンルのゲームをプレイしてみたゲーマーたちには悪い評価を受けました。 一方、ドゥーム64でドゥームを初めてプレイしながら、シューティングゲームの世界に入門したゲーマーたちはむしろ「これこそドゥームだ！」という姿を見せたりもします。 かなり長い時間が経ち、新しいドゥームシリーズがたくさん発売された今も言葉です。
